Jones and Co Photography

Recently I went to the Great Tower at Guildford Cathedral to photograph an interactive light installation created by visual artist and researcher Tine Bech and The Light Project. This was an interdisciplinary research project at the University of Surrey. In Chromatic Play, the Great Tower was inhabited by light sculptures that shift and change in colour as you moved around them. This was part of a research project by academics in Arts, Engineering, Sociology and Physics at Surrey, who are exploring the science, performance and experience of light in environment. I was contacted recently by the wedding organisers at Farnham Castle to supply some shots of a wedding blessing I photographed in the chapel. It was a beautiful day and it was fantastic to be able to photograph in the chapel as not many people have been lucky enough to use the chapel for their wedding or blessing ceremonies. Farnham Castle are working on this - they have plans to appoint a vicar to conduct the ceremonies in the near future, very exciting! I thought I would post an image of the day to show you what a cosy place the chapel is and how perfect it would be for such an intimate occasion. www.jonesandco.co

Thank you to everyone that came along and spoke to us last night at  the Taplow House Hotel  last night for the wedding fair organised by  Berkshire Wedding Fairs . Taplow House is a lovely location set in beautiful grounds and hundreds of you came along, battling against the not-so-kind weather. It was a really busy evening with some fabulous exhibitors - very tempting having a cake supplier opposite giving samples of her delicious and stunningly beautiful wedding cakes! Gorgeous flowers, Italian favour bags, vintage goodies and entertainment made it a lively and colourful evening. Jason and I spoke to lots of people who were very interested in our work and the stills and motion presentation proved very popular. The clips of video interspersed among the stills really add to the overall record of the day. Whilst the Jubilee celebrations began this weekend I was lucky enough to be Alex and Dave's wedding photographer and celebrate their day. The wedding on Saturday was held at The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury a beautiful venue which the couple and friends decorated with bunting and lanterns. A BBQ, a quiz and an excellent band kept everyone entertained - with a Best Men (there were 3!) speech that was most amusing! It was a fantastic day shared with a great group of family and friends. May has been a fabulous month. Not only is everything outside looking new and green, we have had some glorious weather - and I have been very busy! Here at Jones and Co we have been photographing loads of different subjects - from beautiful babies to 80th birthday parties, proms to weddings, and all over the county visiting each of Surrey Police's 108 neighbourhood areas. I have also been busy helping my better half, Jason at Jason Butcher Photography , shooting some shots for stock. We have created different sets within the studio and have produced some great shots showing laboratory scenes, doctor's surgeries, offices, forensics and more. It's a really involved shoot, building sets, organising huge amounts of props and arranging models, but the shots are looking excellent. Good job we have a large studio. www.jonesandco.co

Busy working on the collection of images from Clare and Dan's wedding at the Farnham House Hotel and thought I'd share one with you.  Although we had the odd down pour to contend with it was a fantastic day.
